A phrase that is commonly used in the beginning of the year is “New Year New Me”, but our Rainy Day Chefs didn’t change a thing, as this month, we helped our community once again by cooking for Sofia Way. We cooked some newer items like Mexican Salad for a side but kept some classics like the Vegetarian Enchilada and a personal favorite, Brownies. I had a great time helping Ria out with the Mexican Salad, and saw how a Sweet Potato was cut, which I had never seen before. This type of learning is what excites me every time I do a cookout, as although I am not the best chef, I love to learn the different techniques, cuisines and styles of food, and that’s what I love about the Rainy Day Chefs. Without this organization, I would never have learned so many things I use in my life, and I hope this story relates to you. This was a great start to the year, and I’m thrilled to see what this year brings us. Thank you for reading. - Arnav Kaja
